The Friar Varsity Football program enjoyed at 6 win, 2 loss season in its second year of competition. A pep rally for the team was held on the Friday before the Hudson Catholic game. The Friars were picked as the underdogs to the Hawks. The game was played on Saturday, October 24th in a drenching rainstorm. St. Anthony won scoring 30 points and holding Hudson Catholic scoreless.
The Friars made it to the sectional play-offs but lost to the Gales of St. Mary of Rutherford 20 to 6. The Friars never gave up in this hard played game. They were only down 6 to 0 well into the third quarter. In the end, an interception and fumble on the one foot line could not be overcome.
We congratulate Coach Fallon and the team and look forward to next season with many returning undeerclassmen.
